Accelerated Reader (AR)

Students at St. Francis of Assisi School have the opportunity to use Accelerated Reader (AR) is used from Kindergarten through Eighth grade. AR goals and expectations are set according to the grade and developmental level as well as the reading level of students. We believe that AR supports student learning in the following ways:

Foster's love of reading
Builds reading and learning skills, including fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, goal setting, and responsibility
Provides exposure to fiction and non-fiction texts
Support curriculum objectives
Differentiates reading for students at all levels
Tracking progress as levels increase
