Performing Arts
At Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic School, our Theater Arts and Choir Program nurtures students’ creativity, confidence, and faith. Through performance and song, students express themselves, build lasting skills, and share messages rooted in Gospel values.
Every December, the entire K–8 student body takes part in a joyful Christmas Musical.
Throughout November and early December, students learn music and choreography in class, while 8th graders rehearse lines and stage direction as lead performers. The show always combines a contemporary, family-friendly story with a Biblical message, bringing the meaning of Christmas to life for our school families.
The evening begins with a Christmas concert from both student choirs, setting a festive tone and showcasing their seasonal repertoire.
In partnership with Stagelight Family Productions, our Theater Arts program produces a full-scale musical each spring with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Students audition in the fall and spend 12 weeks preparing for four sold-out performances at the Curtis Theatre in Brea.
Recent productions include:
- Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.
- The Lion King Jr.
- Seussical Jr.
In addition, our Theater Arts Director and Musical Director partner with the 8th grade teachers each Lent to present the Living Stations of the Cross—a reverent and moving student-led portrayal of Christ’s Passion that offers a powerful reflection for our entire school community.
Choir Program
Directed by Mrs. Stefanie Brignoni, the Choir Program includes two ensembles:
- Senior Choir: Open to students in grades 5–8, this choir meets weekly during zero period and sings at every school Mass as well as at special events throughout the year.
- 4th Grade Choir: Meets once a week after school, offering students an early opportunity to grow in vocal technique, discipline, and group performance.
