Please practice the topics in Section EE Adjectives and Adverbs. If you have completed all of the topics with a SmartScore of 80 or greater, you may choose any other section to practice this week.

This activity has a few steps! Read Carefully!
1. Using Chatterpix, record yourself saying your favorite proverb. Save to photos
2. Add your Chatterpix to a PicCollage
3. Explain what the proverb means and why it is your favorite on the PicCollage(phrases, not sentences)
4. Post your completed work to the PADLET called Proverbs for Life
5. Due by Saturday @ 8 a.m.
6. Have Fun! Make certain you put your name on the PicCollage - bottom right corner; Your name should also be on the Padlet when you post your work!

Complete the activity by interviewing a family member or friend.
The "significance" line is to write the meaning and how/why the proverb is used or liked by the person you interviewed.
One of the proverbs can be one that you like. You will use this one tomorrow for the PADLET activity.

Today you will continue finding the meaning of proverbs. You will also write a sentence for each proverb following the example sentence #1. This activity is on page 198 in Vocabulary Workshop Text. Please complete this on a Google Doc with your answers typed and submit by 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.

This week, we will practice our understanding of Proverbs, short sayings that convey a simple truth about life. Begin by reading Vocabulary Workshop page 197. Choose the right proverb to complete each sentence in the exercise on page 197. See the attached worksheet to learn more. As noted in the text, Benjamin Franklin's proverbs mostly shared ways to work hard and put your brain to work! We studied this earlier in the year! Post a picture of your completed page 197 by 5/5 @ 8:00 a.m. More activities to practice understanding of Proverbs to come this week!

Using "Writing:Words in Action" found on Vocabulary Workshop Text page 192, you will be using Prompt #2 to write 3 or more paragraphs about the jobs that dogs do. Read the entire prompt/paragraph to make sure directions are clear. Your writing should include examples, observations, studies(research you might have to look for), the reading "Running With the Big Dogs" on pages 184-185 that introduces Unit 15 word study, or your own personal experience with dogs. Your paragraphs should use at least three Unit 15 words. Underline the words in your essay that should be typed on a Google Doc. No hand written submissions will be accepted.
