Two years ago, I was fortunate to join the St. Francis of Assisi family! After graduating from USC, my teaching experience began in Brea where I taught for 14 years in upper grades. A few years into my career, I received my Masters of Education in Technology & Curriculum from APU. This opened up other roles for me including technology coordinator, grant writer, BTSA mentor, master teacher. I truly enjoyed every minute spent teaching students and mentoring teachers. However, when my third child was born, it was time for me to stay at home and be a full time mom of 3. I quickly found out that my teaching experience continued through volunteer opportunities in my children's classrooms. I found myself teaching technology lessons, small group literature circles, etc. A few of years ago, I decided to step back in the classroom as a substitute teacher. Everything I loved about teaching quickly came flooding back. Fortunately, the technology teaching position here at SFA became available at the perfect time for me. Last year I took on a new role as digital media specialist which allows me to work with both teachers and students to help integrate technology in daily curriculum. I am enjoying being a part of this amazing community! Come visit me in our Innovation Center!
