About the Teacher

Welcome to my page! My name is Yvette Russell and I am proud to say that I get to work here at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School.   This is my 7th year teaching in the 3 year old classroom.  The entire staff here is truly amazing and I look forward every day to working beside these wonderful, God loving people.

I fell in love with this profession in 1990 when I walked into my first classroom of three year olds. It was in that moment that I knew, without a doubt, that God had created me to be a three year old teacher. I enjoy their company and their energy. I thrive on their desire to explore their surroundings and make new discoveries. I have made a personal commitment to seek out new and exciting ways to present this vast world to them in a way that they can understand and appreciate.

I firmly believe in the hands on approach to learning and try to find as many possible opportunities for the children to learn through direct experience and exploration.

It is my hope that all the children who pass through my classroom carry with them happy memories and will always know how loved they are.  It is a blessing to be a part of your child's early life and I promise to make it the best I can.
 
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bob, and my twins Mariah and William. I love to scrapbook, collect Nativity sets, and photography.  I ABSOLUTELY love office supplies, too.
