Athletics

Athletic programs at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School strive to provide opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular sports activities. We believe that involvement in school activities is an important part of a whole-child education. Sports teams provide opportunities to:
  • Develop God-given talents
  • Learn new skills
  • Develop new and deeper friendships with classmates
  • Build self-esteem/self-confidence by stretching personal boundaries.
  • Learn valuable lessons about teamwork, self-discipline, time management, overcoming obstacles, and leadership.

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School students in Grades 5-8 can try out for and participate in an array of sports. There are multiple teams within each sport in order to increase opportunities and allow multiple grade levels to participate. Our teams compete against other local Catholic schools, through the Parochial Athletic League of Orange County. The league teaches students to recognize their strengths and limitations, the lessons of winning and losing, and respect for all involved: fellow players, opponents, coaches, and officials. These life values aid boys and girls in their development toward adulthood.
